Frequently Asked QuestionsDo I need to book the classes in PolePerfect Fitness Training studio? You don't have to book the'all levels' pole classes but the beginners' pole and Pilates classes do need booking.
Where is the PolePerfect Fitness Training studio? The new studio's address is 18 Mill Road, Exeter, Devon, EX2 6LH.
Is pole work safe? Yes, if taught well. It is essential that your instructor understands fully how the human body and fitness works. Catherine has been teaching fitness for nearly two decades and your posture, health and fitness are very important to her. She is an advanced Pilates practicioner so will also teach you how to protect your back and strengthen your core. The most important part of pole work and avoiding injury is control. Catherine is a member of REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals) which means that she keeps up to date with regular training (CPDs).
Is Catherine qualified to teach pole? Yes. She has been teaching pole fitness since 2005 and has written and teaches several pole instructors' courses. Her 'Teaching fitness pole dancing to beginners' course is accredited by REPs and is fully insurable. She also teaches the exercise to music NVQ level 2 fitness instructor course which is awarded by Edexel.
Do I need my own pole? No, but you will improve more quicky if have one at home to practise on. You can buy one from PolePerfect Fitness Training.
How long are the classes? The classes are 1 hour long.
How much are the classes? Classes are £8 each but you can buy a 30 day pass for £60 which means you can come to an unlimiited number of pole classes in that period.
I'm a complete beginner and a bit nervous. Which class should I come to? The beginners only classs on Tuesday at 7pm is perfect for new people. If you can't make that one, you are always welcome at the other classes and won't have to work with the others until you feel ready.
When are the classes? There are pole classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There are also slots for private sessions - have a look at the 'classes' page.
Can I come by myself or with a small group of friends? Yes, private sessions are £40 each which can be split between a group of five or less. Ask for a price for larger groups and hen parties.
Is fitness pole right for me? Pole work is great for everyone whether you are looking for gentle social exercise, the challenge of gymnastic moves or dance. You may be male or female, 16 or 70 and may want to improve your fitness levels for chasing your children about, for martial arts or for climbing. Whoever you are and whatever your reasons, you will really enjoy and benefit from pole work.
What should I wear? To start pole exercise, just wear comfortable joggers, leggings or shorts (with no metal toggles, eyelets or buttons) and bare feet (and no jewellery or body lotion). PolePerfect Fitness Training can supply you with and give you advice on clothing.
Will pole fitness tone my tummy? Yes! And your arms, bottom and legs! It will also improve your posture and flexibility and burn calories.
Do I need to bring anything with me? You may want a bottle of drinking water.
Does the Perfect Pole need to be screwed to my ceiling? No, the Perfect Pole does not need screw fixings.
Can I do anything to prepare for pole work? The best way to improve at pole exercise is by doing pole exercise, but you may want to buy my PolePreparation dvd which will help tone and prepare you for pole work and is also a great stand alone workout.
Can I learn to teach pole? Yes you can. Even if you've never been on a pole before....even if you're not a fitness or dance teacher. Please look at the 'Pole Instructor Courses' page. Can I have a pole hen party for my hen do or birthday? Yes, PolePerfect Fitness Training provides perfect hen dos! Please ask for prices of classes for hen parties, birthdays, team building events etc.
Can I book a team building party? Yes, PolePerfect provides team building sessions. Please ask for prices for these, large private group lessons and hen parties.
I don't have a lot of confidence. Can you help? Pole work will improve your confidence. Catherine is also a qualified hypnotherapist, life coach and nlp (neuro linguistic programming) practicioner and can work with you individually or in a self esteem and assertiveness workshop. |
